Returns and Refunds Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
This policy forms part of the terms and conditions of sale between Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd and the purchaser in respect of electric golf trolleys, electric golf buggies, batteries, chargers, accessories and spare parts purchased through our website.
Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict or exclude any rights available to consumers under United Kingdom consumer law.
1. General Principles
- We are committed to complying with all applicable United Kingdom consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights.
- Different rights may apply depending upon whether goods are being returned because the customer has exercised their statutory right to cancel an online purchase, or because the goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
2. Online Purchases and Right to Cancel
- Consumers purchasing goods online normally have the statutory right to cancel their order within 14 calendar days beginning with the day after the goods are received, subject to the applicable statutory exceptions.
- You do not need to provide a reason for exercising your statutory right to cancel.
- You must notify Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd clearly of your decision to cancel within the applicable cancellation period.
- After notifying us of cancellation, the goods must normally be returned to us within a further 14 days.
- Customers exercising their right to cancel are responsible for the direct reasonable cost of returning the goods to us, unless we have agreed otherwise or the goods are being returned because they are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
- Goods should be returned complete with all components, accessories, manuals and other items originally supplied and, where reasonably possible, in their original packaging.
3. Condition of Returned Goods
3.1 Change of Mind, 14 Day Right to Cancel and Use of Golf Trolleys
Customers may inspect and handle goods only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. The statutory cancellation period is not a 14 day trial period during which a product may be put into normal use and subsequently returned as new.
Golf Trolleys
For the avoidance of doubt, taking a golf trolley onto a golf course and using it for a round of golf goes beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the product.
Once a trolley has been used on a golf course, it cannot reasonably be regarded or resold as a new and unused product. This applies regardless of whether the course was dry or wet. Course use will inevitably expose the trolley to grass, soil, dust, moisture and other environmental material and will cause evidence of use to the front wheel, both rear wheels, tyres, chassis and other exposed components.
A trolley returned after having been used on a golf course will therefore be subject to a full inspection by Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd before any refund is finalised.
Where course use has reduced the value of the trolley, we reserve the right, as permitted by law, to make an appropriate deduction from the refund to reflect that diminished value. This may include the reasonable cost of cleaning, remedial work or replacement of wheels or other components where necessary, together with any reduction in value arising because the trolley can no longer reasonably be offered for sale as a new product.
A customer should therefore not purchase a new golf trolley, use it on a golf course and then seek to return it under the 14 day cancellation provisions on the basis that it remains a new and unused product.
Nothing in this section affects a customer's statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
3.2 Other Goods, Parts and Accessories
Goods, parts and accessories may be inspected and handled only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Where an item has been fitted, installed, modified, damaged or used beyond what is reasonably necessary for inspection and that handling has reduced its value, Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd reserves the right to make an appropriate deduction from any refund to reflect the actual diminished value of the goods, where permitted by law.
This does not affect statutory rights in respect of faulty or misdescribed goods.
4. Faulty, Misdescribed or Non-Conforming Goods
- If goods are faulty, not as described, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose where applicable, or otherwise fail to conform to the contract, customers may have statutory rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund depending upon the circumstances and the period that has elapsed since delivery.
- Where a product is reported as faulty, we may ask for reasonable information about the reported fault and may require the product to be returned to us for examination, inspection and functional testing.
- Where goods are legitimately rejected because they are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract, Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd will bear the reasonable cost of returning the goods, as required by law.
- Upon receipt, we may carry out an appropriate technical inspection and functional test to establish the nature and cause of the reported fault.
- Where the goods are confirmed to be faulty or otherwise fail to conform to the contract, the appropriate statutory remedy will be provided in accordance with United Kingdom consumer law.
- Where inspection establishes that no fault is present, or that the problem has resulted from misuse, accidental damage, neglect, incorrect installation, unauthorised modification, failure to follow the manufacturer's instructions or another matter for which Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd is not responsible, statutory remedies applicable to faulty goods may not apply.
5. Returns Procedure
- To exercise the statutory right to cancel an online purchase, the customer must clearly notify Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd within the applicable 14 day cancellation period.
- Where goods are being returned because of an alleged fault, damage, misdescription or other failure to conform to the contract, customers should provide details of the problem to enable us to deal with the matter efficiently.
- Upon receipt of a return request, we will provide appropriate return instructions and, where applicable, return authorisation details.
- Goods must be packaged securely and appropriately for transportation. Customers are responsible for taking reasonable care when packaging returned goods.
- Where the return concerns a change of mind cancellation, the customer is responsible for the direct reasonable return carriage cost unless otherwise agreed.
- Where goods are legitimately being returned because they are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract, reasonable return costs will be borne by Golf Trolley Repairs U.K. Ltd in accordance with applicable consumer law.
6. Refunds
- Where an online purchase is cancelled under the statutory cancellation provisions, any refund due will be processed within the timescales required by law. We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or the customer has supplied evidence that the goods have been returned, whichever occurs first, where permitted by law.
- Where applicable, the refund will include the cost of our least expensive standard delivery method. Additional charges arising because the customer selected an enhanced or more expensive delivery service are not required to be refunded beyond the cost of standard delivery.
- Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.
- Where goods have been handled or used beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, and their value has consequently been diminished, an appropriate deduction may be made from the refund as permitted by law.
- Any deduction for diminished value will be based upon the actual condition and reduction in value of the returned goods and will not constitute an arbitrary cancellation or restocking charge.
7. Statutory Exceptions
The statutory right to cancel certain online purchases is subject to exceptions prescribed by law. Where an exception applies, this will not affect any separate statutory rights the customer may have if the goods are faulty, misdescribed or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
